Nintendo has revealed all the titles that have sold more than a million units so far in its fiscal year (April-December 2011). Super Mario 3D Land sold over 5 million units and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sold more than 3 million copies. If Nintendo hadn't revealed its losses, then some would assume that everything is going great financially, even if it isn't. This high number of software sales indicates a profitable Nintendo in the future. Click below the break to see all the titles selling more than one million. The first number indicates the amount sold so far this fiscal year, and the number in parentheses indicates the amount of units sold over the game's lifetime.
The Legend of Zelda Goes Skyward
The next Legend of Zelda, the second of which for the Wii, was announced at E3 2009. The trailer depicted the major players surveying the vast open field the night before the fateful battle. Then it cuts to the next morning where you see the opposing armies marching towards each other. None of which made it into the final game by the way. At the end it has “2009”. Ah, the ever vague release date. Being a Zelda fan, I would often check back for updates. It eventually listed “Holiday 2009,” and the 2009 Holiday came and went. Then this game was brought up again at E3 2010. This time there was actual gameplay, showing the roving beetle tool, again insinuating that it would be out later in the year. Around October, they finally conceded that it was going to now be out in 2011. First it was April 2011, which came and went, then the vague Fall 2011, and eventually we got the November date upon which they delivered said promised game. So the question that begs to be asked is: was it worth the wait? Hell, yeah!!!!!!!
Nintendo has released and confirmed more dates for the Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Godesses Tour.
The tour started in response to the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zelda. We were shown a portion of it at Nintendo's E3 conference last year.
The concert will feature story lines and music from Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, A Link to the Past, and Ocarina of Time.
Tickets range from $55-almost $200. Get your tickets soon as they will probably sell out! I know I'm going to get mine as soon as I'm able!
Surprise! Nintendo has stated that in the first 9 months on the market the 3DS has sold more units than the Wii sold in its first 9 months. This is contrary to what most, including Nintendo, thought would happen. It seems like the sharp $80 price drop helped sell the 4 million systems sold this year.
It seems like this can be attributed partly to Mario. Both Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 each sold 1 million units. Not only that, but a small game called Zelda moved 1 million units as well, becoming the fastest selling Zelda game ever.
This news comes after it was revealed that the Vita sold less than the PSP, Wii, and 3DS in its second week sales.
I'm sure waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and don't even know that much about it. Nintendo did recently, though, reveal the information about the box art and bundle for the new Zelda game.
Skyward Sword will retail in to formats. The game itself will retail normally at $49.99 There is a bundle, though. Priced reasonably at $69.99, the bundle comes with a golden Zelda themed WiiMote Plus.

Welcome to this week's The Weekly Game Watch. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and F.E.A.R. 3 come out this week.
BOOM (We have been looking forward to this game for a while)

Nintendo's E3 press conference opened this morning with Zelda. The company was celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary. The company brought in a live orchestra and played "Zelda music through the ages." Miyamoto made an appearance and talked about how special is was that Zelda is now 25. Many new announcements were made.
