Rockstar Vancouver has taken Remedy's child and succeeded in delivering a gritty, fast-paced shooter, while staying true to the Max Payne series.

I set out for the 12th colossus. Dormin once again mentions something about a lake. Dang, more than half the boss battles have to do with a lake. I follow my sword until I reach a large lake with three gazebos sticking out of the water. I swim towards one of the gazebos and the boss appears. It resembles a turtle. I see that there is hair on its back and I figure that the battle would be easy. This was until the unexpected happened, the giant turtle stood up on its hind legs. What the hell! Since when can turtles stand on two legs? Furthermore, this giant has two electric poles sticking out of its head, so it also shoots electricity at me. Cool, right off the back the colossus shoots at me and I take immediate damage.

I set out to the location of the ninth colossus. My handy dandy sword leads me to a cave, where I meet the beast. This colossus walks on four legs and reminds me a lot of a bug, just like the previous colossus. This colossus has a patch of hair on his belly and a large shell covering his back. Each of his four legs are shaped like fists at the end, blocking off any climbable material.

Today’s the day, the sun is shining, I’m killing colossi, and I’m going to be halfway done! Let’s get on the horse and follow the sword’s direction. Yah! Everything is going to be perfect! You know where this is going… I decide to follow my sword in this cave/pathway thing. It leads me to a lake that seems familiar. I figure that this lake is the same one where I fought the bird colossus, so I decide to leave. I left exactly from whence I came and started circling the giant landmass that my sword was pointing to. Around and around I go, failing to see another entrance.
Although not exactly a confirmation, this is the next closest thing. A fan over at IGN has been able to take a picture of the Target pre-order cards for the unannounced Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

I’m off to face Mr. Colossus number 6. This time Dormin informs me that the new colossus is under the temple. This makes me pretty happy, since I’m already in the temple. That means that I won’t have to travel very far. I was wrong. The game made me go all the way around the world to finally make it to the bottom entrance of the temple.

So, after beating two colossi I believe that I pretty much have the controls down. Dormin unproductively informs me where I can find the next colossus, somewhere very high. Cool! I get on my horse and head out. Hey look, there’s a steep incline to the left! Dormin said that the colossus is up high, I’m going to follower that trail. Crap!!! This leads to a dead end, wonderful. Let’s just go all the way back and head another way. Dang! It leads me to another dead end. Finally, I decide to check where the third colossus is, online. What?!?! All I had to do was press square while on the horse to find out where the heck to go next?!?! Thanks developers, you totally wasted an hour of my time by not telling me that I could use my sword to tell me where to go.

Last weekend I purchased a PS2 and with it a bunch of games. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to snag a copy of Shadow of the Colossus off of eBay for $3. Yah, super cheap, I basically just payed for the shipping. I was super excited since the game had built up quite a good reputation over the years.
The moon is sitting high in the evening sky as you sit in your gaming chair, peering at your television screen. You have not moved an inch in hours; you are hungry, you are tired, you are anxious; your phone is continuously going off, reminding you that your mother texted you four hours ago, but you do not care. You are on a mission. You have been looking at the same retry screen for hours. You are on the brink of quitting when you hear it. *BLING*. That, my friends, is the sound of a trophy (achievement) popping up on your screen. The platinum is your's.
