Since the beginning of Xbox live, Microsoft points have been used as their online currency. Users could purchase 800 Microsoft points for $10 and then use those points to buy games, skins, DLC, etc. Many criticized the system since it is hard to convert 80 Microsoft points to a dollar, and many people had minuscule amounts of Microsoft points they had nothing to do with.

Pay Less to Change Your Gamertag

Are you tired of your old Gamertag? Many have been hesitant to change theirs because it costs 800 Microsoft Points ($10). After all, you could buy a game for 800 points instead. Luckily, if you are a gold member, this week you can change your Gamertag for the discounted price of 560 Microsoft Points ($7). All you have to do is head over to the Xbox Dashboard before August 8th and select "Deal of the Week."
