Skyrim Getting Kinect Support

Did you ever think that Skyrim would need Kinect controls? Me neither! Apparently Bethesda disagrees because they announced today that there will be a title update coming later this month adding Kinect controls to the game.

More than 200 voice commands will be added that will allow a player to perform Dragon Shouts, Follower Commands, Menu Navigation, and more. So, you can look forward to the update if you want people to hear you screaming to a dragon in your living room!

SimCity returns to PC in 2013

With leaked concept art and a leaked debut trailer, it was pretty obvious that SimCity lovers were in for a treat during this year's GDC. Last night, EA and Maxis announced that the SimCity franchise will be returning to PC with a new installment in 2013.

This will be the fifth title in the series (SimCity Societies totally didn't count) as it returns to the developer that started it all. Maxis is developing the game on the GlassBox engine, which we don't have much information on as of right now. EA has told us that more information is coming soon.

On a side note, I'm wondering how many gamers these days have even played a SimCity game. It's been nearly 10 years since SimCity 4 was released. If you have played a SimCity game (not including Societies,) you are a true gamer.

Although Neogaf users are claiming this to be false, earlier today, we were led to believe that Play.com had inadvertently leaked the product listings of four unannounced Vita games. The Monster Hunter Portable 3 listing is the only listing you can still find on their website, but the other three titles in question are Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights, Final Fantasy Type-O, and Tales of Innocence.

The original story was sent to Eurogamer, where the product listing image (seen above) was first posted. Despite our best efforts, neither Sony or Play.com have provided a comment on this story. It should be noted that Sony has already announced that they will be unveiling several new PlayStation Vita titles on March 9th, during their PlayStation Vita Game Heaven event.

Whether or not this really is a hoax, like the Neogaf users are inclined to believe, remains to be seen. To add more fuel to the fire, a Grand Theft Auto title has appeared on every platform from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo (as well as PC, iOS, Android, and MAC OS) except for the GameCube and Wii. Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories are some of the highest selling games on the PSP, so it would make perfect sense for a GTA title to make its way onto the Vita. We'll most likely find out for sure whether or not this is the real deal on Friday.

After the image leaked yesterday of what appeared to be an assassin in an American Revolution setting, Ubisoft has put the rumors to rest and confirmed that the image is the real deal. Not only that, but Ubisoft went a step further and unveiled the official Assassin's Creed 3 box art (in PC, 360, and PS3 flavors.)

This official confirmation also comes after another small leak that happened this morning, when a banner ad was spotted on Game Informer that advertised an Assassin's Creed 3 hub on their website with a similar American Revolution image. The ad was quickly pulled; however, after Ubisoft confirmed that the images were real, Game Informer informed us that Assassin's Creed 3 will be their April cover story.

The full box art can be seen below for your viewing pleasure of a dude totally getting stabbed to death by a freaking assassin.

UPDATED: Pokemon Black and White 2?

During a hit Japanese TV show entitled Pokemon Smash, the director of Gamefreak, Junichi Masuda, announced officially that Pokemon Black and White 2 is coming to Japan in June of this year. Interestingly enough, the sequel will be released as a Nintendo DS title, as opposed to the 3DS.

"So wait....there's a part two?"

Apparently Gamefreak has run out of colors or something. I'm not entirely sure, to be honest, and there's no definite assurance that it will come to the states under the same guise. We'll keep you posted as we get more news in weeks to come.

Here's the extremely Japanese source of this announcement. Get your Google translate ready...We'll keep our eyes peeled for more news on this...intriguing story.

UPDATE:

Nintendo has announced via press release that Pokemon Black and White 2 will be coming to America in the fall of this year. Let's see if it's any good. I'm personally confused as to why there's even a part two. Guess we'll find out in days to come.

Review: PlayStation Vita

After years worth of rumors and months of anticipation and hype, the PlayStation Vita has arrived. I've had my hands on the Vita for about a week now, and it hasn't disappointed me yet.

Late last year Ubisoft announced an Assassin's Creed game for 2012, although nobody new what the game would be. In an earnings call today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed 3 will be coming on October 30th, 2012.

Fortunately, a lot of work has been put into the game. CEO Yves Guillemot said that the game has already been in development for three years, and that "what we have seen is just fabulous."The story is supposed to finish off Desmond's storyline as well.

No systems have been announced, but it can be assumed that the game will be coming to PC, 360, PS3, and Wii U (since it was announced at E3).

Playstation Network to be rebranded as SEN

In a move that seemed almost inevitable, Sony has revealed that the Playstation Network will soon become the Sony Entertainment Network. This move is Sony's way of creating "unity between [our] services and the multiple Sony devices where they can be accessed."

"The goal is for there to be one networked log-in for all Sony services. By changing the name 'PlayStation Network account' to 'Sony Entertainment Network account', helps clarify the unity between PSN and other Sony Entertainment Network services. Users can enjoy the same services continuously without being required to change their username and password. However, this change will not affect the naming of "PlayStation Network accounts" when viewed on a PSP system."

So even though we may no longer be able to refer to it as the "PSN," the change to SEN appears to not affect gamers at all. The name change is about all that it will affect, and the services offered on your Playstation consoles will remain the same. This change will occur next Wednesday, February 8th.

Many rumors have been stirring around the internet about the newest consoles coming from Sony and Microsoft.  Will the next Playstation come out next year, will the new Xbox have blu-ray and be 50% faster and more powerful than the current console?  Hmm, no one knows; and, according to marketing director, Cedric Delmas, of Microsoft France, despite all of the recent rumors of the Xbox 720, no new console will be released in 2012.

Wii U Out Globally By The End of 2012

After Nintendo reported huge losses so far this fiscal year, investors needed something to look forward to. Although before we've only known that the Wii U would be out in between E3 and the end of the year, we didn't know where. Satoru Iwata has stated that the Wii U will be out in all the territories by the end of this year. Iwata also repeated that he plans to return Nintendo to the land of profitability in the next fiscal year.
