About Us
If it’s not already, GameDwellers.com will soon be your first stop for video game content that matters. Currently, we focus our writing abilities to covering the latest video game news headlines, publishing our professional opinions in our video game reviews, and posting the most entertaining columns and editorials, and we do it all while getting the ladies (well…some of our writers get the ladies. Heck, some of our writers ARE ladies.)
GameDwellers.com may appear to be a relatively new site having only officially launched in January 2011, but over 8 years of previous industry coverage currently backs the site as Division-Gaming.com, this site’s predecessor, was active between 2006 and 2010. GameDwellers.com was officially born in June 2010 as a sister-site of Division-Gaming.com that was meant to only cover live events, such as that month’s E3 2010. Though after the success that summer, Division-Gaming.com and GameDwellers.com merged into the site you see before you.
GameDwellers.com is here to make the video game news something interesting to read while still making sure to cover the facts.
GameDwellers.com is independently owned, and our writers are currently volunteer workers. This means that the content you see is brought to you by real gamers, not industry-paid writers. Our goal is to publish the news in a way that will benefit casual gamers as well as industry junkies.
Our Writing Staff
Corey WinterEditor-in-ChiefThe site you see before you is the product of one crazed, addicted Grand Theft Auto fanboy that got his start in video game journalism in 2006 after creating a fan site for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. After playing video games since the NES days, and realizing that he had a passion for the video game industry as a whole, Corey expanded his horizons in online media by eventually joining the staff of several other publications, and freelancing for many others. Combining his love for website design, video games, and journalism, Corey founded his own independently operated video game news site in 2010: GameDwellers.com. When Corey is not acting like a couch potato in front of a screen, he spends his time drumming for his college drumline where he is also currently majoring in Computer Science (a degree that he may or may not use to eventually join the craziness of the video game development career field himself.) |
Bryan MasseyManaging EditorBryan has a beard. This beard plays games. However, he also likes to write about video games. The beard enjoys his beer, bears, and many likewise things as well. Bryan also screams in a metal band and has been writing at GameDwellers since 2011. The beard is Managing beard-editor and will continue to have a beard and write. That is all. |
John FrederickSenior EditorJohn has been at GameDwellers since nearly the very beginning, joining shortly after launch in 2010. Too bad he isn’t here to write this right now, though. He is away from the computer all summer while he is on tour in DCI (Drum Corps International.) John plays the biggest bass drum on the field for Music City Drum & Bugle Corps. John is a beast. We miss John. John needs to hurry up and come home to continue writing for GameDwellers. But, until then, we will allow him to continue “dropping bass in peoples’ faces” without any punishment. |
Elia PalesFeatures EditorElia became a Nintendo Fanboy at age four, when he picked out Charmander as his starter Pokemon in Pokemon Red. His fanboyism only grew from there, going into Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and other Nintendo franchises. More recently Elia has played games on non-Nintendo systems including the PS2, PS3, and 360, but still prefers his Nintendo games and consoles the most. |

Peter HoeyContent EditorWhile his mother regrets giving it to him to this day, Peter fully embraced his Christmas gift: a Nintendo Entertainment System with a copy of Legend of Zelda. Since putting Ganon out of his misery, he has played and collected whatever video games and consoles he could get his hands on. At the same time, Peter enjoyed writing short stories and screenplays and decided to pursue a degree in English. It wasn’t until a certain day in college, while beating his friends silly with Pikachu in Super Smash Bros. (he may or may not have been intoxicated), when the light bulb clicked on above his head. What if he could join together his two favorite hobbies in to one awesome profession? With that in mind, Peter chased after this dream of video game journalism by creating his own blog, starting up a Youtube channel, and writing for both the college newspaper and various websites before joining the staff of GameDwellers. |
