It seems like Nintendo hasn’t learned from the huge Fire Emblem debacle. Officially, the release date for Lego City: Undercover is today, March 18th, but after some inspection, it’s not at retail.
The game is available to download from the eShop, but for those who want the retail version, it is unknown when the game will come. Gamestop, BestBuy, Amazon, and Walmart, to name a few, have not yet received retail shipments, both online and in store.
Upon further investigation, it seems like the stores themselves don’t even have an official release (street) date. Instead, stores are instructed to sell the game as soon as shipments arrive.
This whole situation is incredibly troubling, since Nintendo has announced that the game will take up 25gb of space. Many will not be able to download the full game, and people like me, who prefer retail copies, will be forced to wait for shipments.
GameDwellers will keep you updated on the whole situation.
